Panic Attacks Are Terrifying

Anxiety Panic Attacks often occur randomly and are extremely shocking and scary experiences. Is there anything a person can do to control an attack? It’s important not to try and stop a panic attack by fighting it. Avoid letting anxiety symptoms rule your emotions and behavior.

Let the sensations and feelings run their course and remember that they will come to an end. Shockingly anxiety attacks can be so severe that sufferers think they are dying. Unfortunately symptoms of an attack can be very similar to having a heart attack.

Symptoms or ‘sensations’ like severe chest pain, shooting pains and trembling are very distressing for the sufferer. Keep in mind whatever might happen that you cant die from having Panic Attacks. When you have an attack try to inhale slowly and deeply and try to relax.

Often people hyperventilate when having an anxiety attack which triggers other symptoms. This is why it’s important to breathe slowly and deeply. Doing this alone, can help calm you and alleviate some of the symptoms. Getting up and walking about can also help you feel more at ease.

Sometimes the aftershock of an anxiety attack can last for hours so it’s important to try and stay relaxed. Engage in something that will distract you from thinking about the panic attack. You can try lots of things; take a bath, go for a cycle, read a magazine or talk to someone for support.

Anxiety disorders can be difficult to cope with so it’s essential to seek treatment. Your problem won’t go away by ignoring it. It’s been proven that therapies have a high success rate with anxiety disorders. A sufferer might find that his or her condition degenerates without the right treatment. Sufferers without treatment are also likely to experience sleep problems and depression.

Suffering from an anxiety disorder is bad enough but to have another disorder as well makes life even more unbearable. Depression makes a person feel frequently miserable and sad. They may feel like their world is falling apart and there is nothing to live for. They lose all motivation to do anything, even things they once enjoyed.

It’s not surprising to hear that it’s far more difficult to cure anxiety and depression. Suicide rates and use of drugs and alcohol are higher people with both disorders. Although recreational drugs and alcohol might provide temporary relief in some people, long term use can actually worsen the problem. Some sufferers become reliant and find it hard to stop drinking or using drugs.

Sleep disorders are also prevalent in those with anxiety disorders. A majority of people who suffer from anxiety disorders also complain frequently of the inability to sleep. Often this is due to anxiety symptoms or thoughts of apprehension and dread. Feeling tense and irritable they find it extremely difficult to fall asleep.

Anxiety symptoms feel much worse following a night of little or no sleep. Nights and even weeks of sleeplessness can occur which can be awfully difficult to deal with. Recovery from anxiety and depression can be a lot quicker when treated early. Ensure that you get help if you suffer from anxiety.
