Solutions to Ingrown Hairs & Razor Bumps/Rash
I used to suffer from very sensitive skin, which caused constant razor rash and a lot of nicks when shaving. Areas of my neck in particular was particularly affected by the continual damage caused by daily shaving. The top layer of skin became susceptible to nicks & cuts and it bled frequently, this also resulted in shaving bumps and ingrown hairs. From my research, this is quite typical. Skin becomes damaged, wounds scab and hairs become trapped beneath the surface of the skin and start growing inwards because their normal access route to the surface is blocked.
Skin in poor condition not only looks unsightly but is also a cause of embarrassment, which can really dent your self esteem!
Tend Skin is very popular and definitely does help a great deal. However, you should also be aware of potentially better alternatives. I started out with Tend Skin and it did combat the problem of razor rash and ingrows effectively, but I found it to be a very thin liquid which was runny and difficult to apply at times. It also stings when applied to raw skin, this is because it contains Isopropyl Alcohol which is a very harsh form of alcohol (AKA Rubbing Alcohol). When applied to skin it can cause a burning sensation and lead to dry skin.
After using Tend Skin I did some research on alternatives and found a couple which are particularly noteworthy. The first one is Power Shave for Ingrown Hair, Razor Rash & Bumps and it’s a thicker gel like solution that contains SD Alcohol 40, which is denatured Ethyl Alcohol so it causes minimum irritation when applied and doesn’t dry out your skin. The results for me were identical to Tend Skin, but without the irritation and application problems.
The other product I found that solved all my shaving woes was Bob Norburn Dry Shaving Solution. It creates an invisible barrier between your skin and your razor blade when shaving. Within a month all my shaving problems had disappeared. Between Bob Norburn 3-in-1 Shaving Solution and Power Shave for Ingrown Hair, Razor Rash & Bumps all my shaving irritions are gone.
There are many good products on the markey, some worthy of great acclaim, but you should do your own research and find what suits you best…
